Torah: Turn It is made by one person: Eric Linder, a rabbi who wanted the weekly portion to feel like something you could actually keep up with, a few minutes at a time. If you have a question, spot a mistake, or have an idea, I'd be glad to hear from you.
Which portion is it showing?
This week's, counting from Shabbat. Some weeks Israel and the diaspora read different portions; set "Where you live" in Settings and the app follows that calendar.
Do I need to know Hebrew?
Not a word. Everything reads in English. When you're curious, the Hebrew is right beside it, with vowels, or with the trope marks for chanting.
What if I miss a day?
Then you miss a day, and that's fine. Your place is kept and the reading waits for you. The week moves on with the calendar, and any portion is always there in the year view.
How do I find my bar or bat mitzvah portion?
Enter a birthday in the app and it works out the portion, then shows where it falls in the year.
My highlights aren't on my other device.
Highlights, notes and reading progress sync through iCloud. Make sure both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud turned on, then open the app on each. It can take a minute.
I found a mistake in the text or a guide.
Thank you for catching it. Please write with the portion and verse. The English is the 1917 Jewish Publication Society translation, and every guide is checked against it.
